Morning, noon and night
Three random things I learned, or remembered, todayArchive for Pets
Cats and infection control
MORNING
Unfortunately, one of the theories believed at the time was that The Black Death was being spread by cats.
Thousands of cats were put down as a consequence.
But it was rats that were spreading plague. The households that kept their cats were less affected.
Chocolate

MORNING
The first chocolate bar was made in 1842 by John Cadbury, an English Quaker.
The average person will consume 10,000 chocolate bars in a lifetime.
The melting point of cocoa butter is just below the human body temperature – which is why it literally melts in your mouth.
A chocolate bar is poisonous to dogs and can even be lethal to puppies and small dogs.
Chocolate and avocados are highly toxic to parrots and can be fatal.
A peaceful death
NOON
last night our old, well loved family dog died peacefully during the night.
She was happy until the day before.
That is a good way for a dog to die.
I need some time to be sad.
